Το OUT SCORE: Χω/ορικές Σημειογραφίες I είναι ένα ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα που εξετάζει τους συσχετισμούς μεταξύ του χορού, του ήχου, του περφόρμανς και των εικαστικών σε σχέση με τις πολυδιάστατες έννοιες της σημειογραφίας και της παρτιτούρας (score) και τους τρόπους που μπορούμε να αντιληφθούμε  την καταγραφή της ελαστικότητας στη δεύτερη δεκαετία του αιώνα.

Σε επιμέλεια της ιστορικού τέχνης Δρ Σωζήτας Γκουντούνα για το Ίδρυμα Ωνάση, η πρώτη παρουσίαση του προγράμματος αποτελείται από μια χορογραφία της Maria Hassabi που θα λάβει χώρα στις 28 Μαΐου 19:00μμ και την ομαδική έκθεση στον εκθεσιακό χώρο του γλυπτού θεάτρου της Αιξώνης στη Γλυφάδα που σχεδιάστηκε από τη Νέλλα Γκόλαντα. Η δεύτερη παρουσίαση θα λάβει χώρα στο ‘T’ Space Rhineberg της Νέας Υόρκης που σχεδιάστηκε από τους Steven Holl Architects σε συνεργασία με τη Δήμητρα & Ειρήνη Τσαχρέλια και τον Νικόλα Καρυτινό (Tacet Creations).

Με τη συμμετοχή των καλλιτεχνών: Maria Hassabi, Kelly Nipper, Michael Portnoy, Duke Riley, Αλέξανδρος Γεωργίου, Delia Gonzalez, Christian Wassmann, Ελένη Καμμά, Κωστή Βελώνη, Raymond Pettibon, Erlea Maneros Zabala, Ilan Manouach, Marie Voignier, Βασίλη Σαλπιστή, Διονύση Καβαλιεράτο, Μαρία Γεωργούλα, Νίκο Χαραλαμπίδη, Όλγα Βενετσιάνου, Αγγελική Σβορώνου, Σωτήρη Καραμάνη, Mark Aerial Waller, το πρότζεκτ παρουσιάζει μεθόδους για τη μετατροπή του τρισδιάστατου χώρου σε δισδιάστατη μορφή και τους τρόπους με τους οποίους μια ελαστική κίνηση και ένα ηχητικό score μπορούν να καθορίσουν το μέλλον της αρχιτεκτονικής, του δομημένου χώρου και του οικιστικού περιβάλλοντος.

Οι χορογραφικές απεικονίσεις, οι μέθοδοι σύνθεσης, οι ερμηνευτικές δράσεις, το κινησιολογικό λεξιλόγιο και τα εκπαιδευτικά εργαλεία συγκεντρώνονται για να αναδείξουν τις ιστορικές μετατοπίσεις στις πρακτικές και στις συζητήσεις πάνω σε αυτά τα θέματα.

Το πρότζεκτ που ανέπτυξε αρχικά η Σωζήτα Γκουντούνα το 2016 ως η πρώτη Andrew W. Curatorial Fellow στη Μπιενάλε Performa της Νέας Υόρκης διερευνά τους τρόπους με τους οποίους η κίνηση μεταβάλλεται οργανικά στο χώρο και τους τρόπους με τους οποίους το δομημένο περιβάλλον μπορεί να προσαρμοστεί μέσω της κίνησης.

Εξετάζει, επίσης, την απόσταση μεταξύ του έντυπου υλικού και την πραγματική εμπειρία της περφόρμανς, καθώς και τους τρόπους με τους οποίους η σύγχρονη περφόρμανς μπορεί να διαμορφώσει μια συγκεκριμένη «γλώσσα του σώματος» με τη δική της σημειογραφία που μπορεί να καθορίσει μια άλλη πειθαρχία όπως η αρχιτεκτονική και η βιώσιμη μηχανική.

Το ‘T’ Space στη Νέα Υόρκη, σχεδιασμένο από τον αρχιτέκτονα Steven Holl, έχει ως στόχο να συνθέσει τις τέχνες και να παρουσιάσει πρωτότυπα έργα στην Κοιλάδα του Hudson, ενώ το γλυπτό θέατρο της Αιξωνής στην Αττική της Ελλάδας έχει προκύψει από ένα ιδιαίτερο κοινωνικό και ιστορικό πλαίσιο αλλά επί του παρόντος δεν παρουσιάζει πολιτιστικά προγράμματα.

Το OUT SCORE παρουσιάστηκε για πρώτη φορά στο συνέδριο NOTATE, DOCUMENT, SCORE: BODY CULTURE & VISUAL CULTURE στις 6 Απριλίου 2019 στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Μπράιτον και στο πάνελ των Paisid Aramphongphan (Πανεπιστήμιο De Montfort) και του Hyewon Yoon (Πανεπιστήμιο του Νιού Χάμσαϊρ- Σύνδεσμος για την Ιστορία της Τέχνης): NOTATE, DOCUMENT, SCORE: BODY CULTURE & VISUAL CULTURE

Το πάνελ εξέτασε τις διασταυρώσεις της σωματικής κουλτούρας και της οπτικής κουλτούρας με την πάροδο του χρόνου, που περιλαμβάνει σημειογραφίες, περφόρμανς, και πειραματικά score, φωτογραφική τεκμηρίωση, ταινίες και άλλες πηγές αρχειοθέτησης.

Αντί να επικεντρωθεί σε ό,τι παραδοσιακά θεωρείται ως χορός, όπως η χορογραφία και η περφόρμανς που σχεδιάζονται για χρονικά προδιορισμένες παρουσιάσεις, το συνέδριο εξέτασε το σώμα και την κίνηση ως ένα διευρυμένο πεδίο πρακτικής και πώς αυτό ταιριάζει μέσα, εξέρχεται από, και / ή σχηματίζει ένα συγκεκριμένο κοινωνικό και ιστορικό πλαίσιο.

Το OUT SCORE θα παρουσιαστεί επίσης στο συνέδριο PSi # 25 2019 για την Ελαστικότητα στο School of Creative Arts και Performing Arts του Πανεπιστημίου του Κάλγκαρι στον Καναδά από τις 4 έως τις 7 Ιουλίου 2019: PSi #25

Η έννοια της ελαστικότητας περιλαμβάνει τη δυνατότητα διαμόρφωσης από μια εξωτερική δύναμη και της επιστροφής στην αρχική μορφή στην περίπτωση που αυτή η δύναμη αφαιρεθεί.

Αναφέρεται στην προσαρμοστικότητα και την πλαστικότητα των δικτυωμένων συνδέσεων και παρόλο που ο ελαστικός ιστός έχει σημεία σχισμής είναι πολύ πιο ανθεκτικό από τα άκαμπτα υλικά.

OUT SCORE: Χω/ορικές Σημειογραφίες I is a research program that generates encounters between dance, sound, performance and the visual arts in relation to the complex notions of notation and score, and the ways scoring elasticity can be conceived in the second decade of the century.

Developed for the Onassis Foundation by art historian Dr Sozita Goudouna the first edition of the program consists of a performance choreographed by Maria Hassabi and a group exhibition at Aixoni Sculpted Theatre and Exhibition Space designed by Nella Golanda at Aixoni in Glyfada and will be launched on the 28th of May at 7pm. The second edition of the project will be presented at ‘T’ Space Rhineberg New York designed by Steven Holl Architects in collaboration with Dimitra & Eirini Tsachrelia and Nicholas Karytinos (Tacet Creations).

With the participation of artists Maria Hassabi, Kelly Nipper, Michael Portnoy, Duke Riley, Alexandros Georgiou, Delia Gonzalez, Christian Wassmann, Eleni Kamma, Kostis Velonis, Raymond Pettibon, Erlea Maneros Zabala, IlanManouach, Vassilis Salpistis and Marie Voignier, Dionysis Kavalieratos, Maria Georgoula, Nikos Charalambidis, Olga Venetsianou, Angela Svoronou, Sotiris Karamanis and Mark Aerial Waller the project presents methods of translating three-dimensional work into a two-dimensional format and the ways an elastic movement and sound score can define the future of architecture, engineering and our build environment.

Choreographer’s renderings, compositional methods, interpretive actions, movement vocabulary and pedagogical tools are gathered together to show the historical shifts in practices and discourses on these issues.

The project that Dr Sozita Goudouna developed originally in 2016 as the inaugural Andrew W. Curatorial Fellow at Performa in New York investigates the ways movement organically changes over space and the ways our actual environment, live space, and surroundings can be adjusted by movement. It also examines the distance between the printed material and the actual experience of the performance, as well as the ways that contemporary performance can form a specific ‘body language’ with its own signs and connotations that can define another discipline such as architecture and sustainable engineering.

‘T’ Space, designed by architect Steven Holl, aims to synthesize the arts and present original works in the Hudson Valley, while the sculpted theatre of Aixoni in Attica, Greece has emerged out of a particular social and historical context but is currently inaccessible.

OUT SCORE was first presented at the NOTATE, DOCUMENT, SCORE: BODY CULTURE & VISUAL CULTURE session governed by Paisid Aramphongphan (De Montfort University) and Hyewon Yoon (University of New Hampshire The Association for Art History) at the 2019 Annual Conference on the 4 – 6 April 2019 at the University of Brighton: NOTATE, DOCUMENT, SCORE: BODY CULTURE & VISUAL CULTURE

This session examined the intersections of body culture and visual culture across time, encompassing notation, performance and experimental scores, photographic documentation, film, and other archival sources.

Rather than focusing on rubrics traditionally understood as dance, such as choreography and performance designed for time-limited showings, the papers examine body and movement as an expanded field of practice, and how that fits within, emerges out of, and/or shapes a particular social and historical context.

OUT SCORE will be also presented at the Performance Studies International PSi #25 2019 Conference on “Elasticity” at the School of Creative and Performing Arts, University of Calgary in Canada on the 4th until the 7th of July 2019: PSi #25

OUT SCORE investigates the ways movement organically changes over space, and the ways our actual environment, live space, and surroundings can be adjusted by movement. It will also examine the distance between the printed material and the actual experience of the performance, as well as the ways that contemporary performance can form a specific ‘body language’ with its own signs and connotations that can define another discipline, such as architecture and sustainable engineering.

Elasticity involves the ability to be shaped by an external force and to return to an original configuration if that force is removed.

It refers to the adaptability and plasticity of networked connections, and although elastic tissue has a snapping point, it is far more resilient than inflexible materials.
